To participate in the Nova Scotia International Student Program, students must meet the following requirements. Please review each criterion carefully before starting your application.
Students must be enrolled in grades 7 through 12, with typical ages ranging from 12 to 18 years old.

Applicants must demonstrate good academic records. Transcripts from the last two years are required and must be translated into English.
Students can join the program for a semester, a full academic year, or multiple years. The program offers two start dates each year.
A crucial part of the NSISP experience is living with a screened Canadian host family. All students are required to participate in the homestay program. Both students and parents must sign a participation agreement acknowledging this commitment.
Parents or legal guardians must sign the NSISP participation agreement and provide all necessary supporting documents, including the Custodianship Declaration, which must be notarized in the student's home country.
