The Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education (CCRCE) serves four major central and northern Nova Scotia areas. The school board comprises 74 schools and provides education for over 20,000 students.
Highlights in Chignecto-Central include the Shubenacadie River, which is known for the world's highest recorded tides. Thousands of tourists visit the area every year to witness this amazing natural phenomenon and experience a unique tidal bore rafting adventure.
The towns and communities throughout Chignecto-Central offer plenty of opportunity. When visiting Truro, you find yourself in an urban centre with all amenities and the biggest high school in Nova Scotia; however, you can also find pristine beauty in rural communities set along the banks of rivers and lakes. Whatever your preference, Chignecto-Central has something for you.
As with all areas of Nova Scotia, people in Chignecto-Central are known for their friendly nature and natural ability to make you feel at home. Don’t be surprised if a stranger starts a conversation with you—the warmth of Nova Scotians shines through.
Throughout the year, there are many things to see and do in the Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education.
